Intermediate Care Facilities

Intermediate care facilities (ICF/MR) began in 1990. Interac has three of these beautiful homes, located in the Manayunk, Roxborough and Overbrook sections of  Philadelphia. These homes house up to seven people and have 24 hour staffing  with a one-to-three staff to client ratio ( or better as medical needs dictate). The ICF/MR program is dedicated to providing quality care to developmentally challenged individuals, 21 years of age and older.

The ICF/MR functions as a transitory placement for medically involved consumers. Interac's role is that teacher, mentor and role model. The philosophy of the ICF/MR is focused on the active treatment which consists of continuous learning and development in all facets of life; education, recreation, social, vocational, medical and through advocacy. Our goal is to assist the developmentally challenged to reach their fullest potential by fostering independence. Our staff are committed to creating family-like atmosphere for the clients that they serve and our residents are proud to call Interac home!
