Counseling Services

Outpatient Services at Greenridge Counseling Center

Sometimes problems of living create difficulties that require consultation with an experienced professional. Examples of such problems might include job stress, illness or death of a family member, chronic illness, parenting concerns, marital or relationship difficulties, drug or alcohol dependence, depression or anxiety. Children, adolescents and adults, including adults struggling with substance abuse, may benefit from outpatient services when these problems occur.

Our experienced staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and counselors is trained to deal with these issues as well as many other types of concerns using a wide range of therapeutic techniques. Psychiatric/medication evaluations and medication monitoring; psychoeducation; play therapy; individual, couple and/or family therapy; and cognitive-behavioral interventions are only a few of these. We also offer therapy groups, including a psychoeducational drug and alcohol group for people in recovery, psychological testing for learning and school-related or vocational placement, and intensive outpatient services for situations where an individual's problems are more severe.

Our Walk-In Crisis Intervention Service offers immediate treatment and consultation. A specially trained mental health professional can provide brief treatment, access to community resources and referrals for individuals and/or families presenting with a crisis that requires immediate intervention.

Our Centralized Intake Unit provides a comprehensive evaluation at the beginning of treatment to help determine what level and type of services would be most beneficial for a particular problem.

Because a therapy consultation is a private and personal decision, the Counseling Center will work to accommodate an individual's specific needs.

We provide flexible scheduling during daytime and evening hours. Our outpatient site at the corner of Green Lane and Ridge Ave provides many convenient appointment options. In addition, we will work with an individual to help access insurance coverage or to arrange an affordable fee and payment plan. Our Walk-In Crisis Intervention services are available to anyone in the community.

To arrange an appointment, or to inquire about our services call the Centralized Intake Unit at (215) 487-1330.
